Your Dog is Good for Your Health

More than 65 percent of U.S. households own at least one dog and nearly half own more than one. And that’s good news for Americans’ health. Owning a dog decreases blood pressure and helps to prevent cardiovascular disease.

Anita Skariah, DO, a physician with Orange Family Medical Group in Hillsborough, appeared on WRAL’s “Staying Healthy” segment to discuss why owning a dog is good for your health.
